So, during the motorbike touring I did in 2012 I stumbled across an amazing road. However little did I know at the time, it’s legendary in the world of cycling. It’s the highest road in the central Pyrenees with its claim to fame mostly owed to the Tour de France. This would have explained the hundreds of cyclists battling the 17.2 km climb.
To put it lightly, this road is insane, visibility was less than 15 feet at some points and orientation was completely gone, not many crash barriers and what seemed like endless 90 degree turns. It took 2 hours to cover 60 km of this, it was really, really hard! Despite this, it’s something I’d love to get back too, to give the gruelling climb the best shot I can give.
